AUGMENTED REALITY FOR “Dream (e)scapes”

ANIMATIONS ON SCREEN AND SMARTPHONE The CHOREOS production is entitled “Dream (e)scapes” and highlights dreams, parallel and illusory worlds and the escape into them in seven chapters and works. As an absolute novelty, the live concert offers the opportunity to digitally expand the real space with the help of the CHOREOS app using augmented reality technology (AR technology) and to view exciting content that is in real dialog with the real events on stage. Associations and parallels to concepts such as day/night, dreams/nightmares, fears, hecticness, and tranquility are obvious and intentional.
On a deeper level, however, it is also about the fluid transitions between worlds. The escape into illusory worlds, parallel worlds, and above all virtual worlds. This also raises questions about home, society, and our longings.
The musical spectrum ranges from romantic works by Gustav Mahler and Richard Strauss to 20th-century music with works by Einojuhani Rautavaara and Knut Nystedt, to two commissioned compositions by Jan Sandström and Georgi Sztojanov.
